NEW! Truancy Intervention Project

The Truancy Intervention Project was designed to provide youth with the intervention and support they need to be successful in school and to give parents the skills and resources necessary to be supportive of their child's educational process. The program targets boys and girls age 10-17 and operates out of the Phoenix Project Center in North Oak Cliff.

Program Components:

  • Personal Graduation Plans for each student in the program
  • A personal case manager to coordinate services and solutions
  • Education support to offer assistance to each student in dealing with their school regarding absences, grades and class credit recovery
  • Family communication classes
  • Referrals to other community services that may help the students and/or other members of their family with related issues
  • Free after-school tutoring and personalized homework assistance
